Electrical Spotter

A certified electrical Spotter is required when plant and equipment is working in the vicinity of both overhead and underground electrical assets.

The approachable overhead NO GO ZONE distances with a spotter are between 6.4m – 3m for electrical power poles and 8m – 10m for electrical towers.

The Spotter must have undertaken an approved Spotter training course (22325VIC) (Course in Workplace Spotting for Service Assets)

They must also hold a current competency in ‘Provide First Aid’ (HLTAID003), and ‘Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation’ (HLTAID001)

Furthermore, the Spotter must hold the High-Risk Work Licence of Dogman to be able to spot for a crane around electrical assets.

The spotter must carefully position themselves so they can monitor the distance between the equipment and the lines and provide early and effective warning to the machinery operator of any potential encroachment on the No Go Zone. At Connect Cranes we can provide Energy Safe Victoria certified and accredited electrical spotters to Geelong, Melbourne and Regional Victoria.
